Dear ladies and gentlemen!

Let me greet you on behalf of one of the leaders in ferrous metallurgy, i.e. Byelorussian steel works.

Our plant takes the leading place in the output level of industrial products among the enterprises of our country. Application of advanced technologies, utilization of high-output equipment, as well as diligence of highly skilled staff of many thousands make it possible for us to reach good results in each and every production area: steel-making, rolling, pipe production, production of steel cord and wire.

The products of BSW, aimed at the fields of construction, automobile industry, machine building, oil production, are nowadays sold well in Europe, the Russian Federation, Middle East and Africa. Our plant has made deliveries to 107 countries worldwide over its activity period. This figure again proves that the trade mark of BSW is well-known in metal products market.

BSW started its history in 1984 and it is considered to be one of the best metallurgical enterprises in the world as to available equipment and keeps on developing. Presently, technical re-equipment of the plant is being carried out according to the program which is a part of the business plan for 2011-2015. One of its major targets is to increase the production of steel up to 3 mln. tons per year. The biggest investment projects over the past years are being implemented in full swing within this program. The projects aim to increase volume of products, intensify metallurgical transformations, provide the growing main production with materials, energy sources and auxiliary media, improve the environment. The key projects include the construction of bar and wire rod mill with potential output of 1 mln ton of rolled products per year, revamping of steel-making production, construction of the third lime kiln. More than 500 mln Euro in total will be allocated to carry out this program.

Byelorussian steel works is successful both in economic and social spheres. Our plant was the first in the country to sign U.N.O. ‘Global compact’ aimed to promote sustained development and to enhance social responsibility of business. Now the principles of this international social compact are a part of the strategy and routine work of the plant, and social standards of BSW meet the worldwide requirements completely.
