The first development and the plantation experience of the quality system on the Republican unitary enterprise «Byelorussian Steel Works» was realized in 1994 in the frame of one wire mill. But already in April 1997 the quality system of the plant was certified by the inspection company «TUV/Reinland/Berlin Brandenburg» (Germany) for the requirements of the standard ISO 9002:1994 conformity. Now the quality management system is certified for requirements of the standards ISO 9001:2008; STB ISO 9001:2009, ISO/TS 16949:2002; BS EN ISO 9001:2008; ISO/TS 29001, API Spec Q1. Also the RUE «BMZ» has more than 40 certificates of conformity for different types of products that permits to carry out supplies to Poland, Great Britain, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, United States of America, Holland, Czech Republic, Russia, UAE etc. (75 countries according to the totals of 2009).
The environmental system is certified for requirements conformity of ISO 14001:2004 and STB ISO 14001:2005.
The industrial safety and health control system is certified for requirements conformity to OHSAS 18001:2007 and STB 18001-2005 (OHSAS 18001:1999).
According to the advanced tendencies, at the end of 2008 was taken a decision as for the creation of the Corporative policy of the management system (CMS) on the plant by the integration of the quality management system (QMS), control of the environment system (CES), the industrial safety and health control system (IS&HCS) to the uniform system and the inclusion of a new management systems to it. The full documents integration CES, IS&HCS was foreseen by the program of Management corporative system development, and also the management system of power savings according to STB 1777, management of information protection system basing on ISO 27001, finance management basing on the standard ISO 10014, that permits to decrease considerably the regulating documents quantity and to increase a management quality.
The RUE «BMZ» is a winner of the different competitions in a quality area:
- Competition of the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in a quality area (2001, 2004, 2007);
- Competition of the Prize of the Ministry of industry of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in a quality area (2001, 2004, 2007);
- «The best products of the Republic of Belarus» in the nomination «Products of production-technical purpose» (2002-2009);
- «The best products of the Republic of Belarus in the market of the Russian Federation» in the nomination «Products of production-technical purpose» (2001, 2003-2009);
- International prize Honour symbol «Community Star» in the nomination «The best company of CIS» (2006);
- Competition of the Prize of the Independent Countries Union for the achievements in quality of products and services area ( 2007);
- «The best quality manager» (2007-2009);
- « The best exporter - 2007» in the nomination «Machinery construction, metallurgy and metal processing»;
- The 4-th international tournament of the Central and Eastern European countries (2008) and the owner of the certificate "Recognition of perfection in Europe 5 stars";
- The national competition «Brand 2009» in the nominations:
- «Socially responsible brand» in the categories «Best employer» and «Active social position» (2 gold medals);
- «Professional nomination, products and services В2В» in the category «Brand-export» (gold medal).
The RUE «BMZ» took part in the competition for awarding of the European quality prize (EQA), approved by the European foundation of quality management (EFQM) in 2009, the level "Recognition of perfection in Europe 5 stars" was given to the plant.
The RUE «BMZ» is a member of the quality Leaders Club of the Central and Eastern countries of Europe since 2008. It was signed the agreement about the joining to the Global Agreement of U.N.O and supporting of its 10 principles in the area of human rights protection, ecology, struggle with corruption in August of 2008. It was prepared the first in the history of the plant report concerning the social management according to the international standard GRI, the public auditions were held in 2009.
The production of RUE «BMZ» has a high level of competitiveness and is in a constant requisition in the world market. The product conformity certification for the international and national standards of CIS and foreign countries is carried out to make a market wider starting from 90-th.
The permission to use a sign «СE» was got for the first time in August 2006 for rolled section made of structural steel according to the requirements of the directive 89/106/СЕ and BS EN 10025-2004 by the company «CARES». The company TUV NORD Systems (Germany) issued a new certificate of conformity for application of «СE» marking in February 2008 for the following list of products:
1) hot rolled seamless hollow sections made of structural steel, the resistance group is since S235 to S355 according to the Appendix A and B requirements to DIN EN 10210-1:2006 and Directive 89/106/CE of the European Community Council on building products changed according the Directive 93/68/ЕЭС of the European Community Council;
2) steel hot rolled bars made of structural steel, the resistance group is since S235 to S355 according to the requirements of the European standard DIN EN 10025-2:2005 and Directive 89/106/CE of the European Community Council on building products, changed according the Directive 93/68/CE of the European Community Council.

According to international experience steel cord and wire are not certified by independent organizations because every customer has specific requirements for this type of products. Hardware production and product quality are inspected and assessed directly by customers. The result of such audits are approvals of the plant as a supplier of such companies as Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, Gates, Manuli, Pirelli, etc.
